Nostradamus predicts: Sacred pump |
This week's verse:
La sacree pompe viendra baisser les aesles
Par la venue du grand legislateur:
Humble haulsera vexera les rebelles,
Naistra sur terre aucun aemulateur.
Translation for today:
The sacred pump will lower it's arm With the right application of force: The humble will be raised, the rebels foiled, No one born here can emulate this.
Meaning:
This is obviously about a pump, a special pump that needs a special arm to pump it. Nostradamus is usually very clear and literal in his verses, despite what other translators may wish you to believe, so the secret to this verse is in discovering what substance this pump is pumping, and why can it not be pumped by human hands?
The obvious solution is an oil well. We've all heard the phrase "black gold", and certainly oil has become the religion and sacred manna of the industrial world. People can't pump oil out by hand, we need machines, machines that aren't "born". Obviously we can't emulate them.
So, who are the humble, and who are the rebels?
Clearly, Nostradamus is sending a message to President Bush, endorsing his use of force in Iraq. Democracy will prevail! The insurrection will not succeed. For now.
How long will the rebels be foiled? Perhaps the answer lies in another quatrain. |
